MEWO spreading its wings with support from Vinci, part of the BGK Group

After more than a decade of consistently strengthening our position as the Polish leader in surveying and monitoring services focused on critical infrastructure in the Baltic Sea, we have opened a new chapter of MEWO’s operations by signing an investment agreement with Vinci S.A., a subsidiary of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK).

As MEWO’s President of the Board Paweł Gajewski explained: ‘Thanks to public capital support, we will expand our fleet of research vessels, at the same time investing in specialist next-generation equipment (including ROVs), and in the development of state-of-the-art digital infrastructure. We aspire to be not only a regional leader in subsea services, but also a global provider of integrated data on the state of seas and oceans.’

During the agreement signing ceremony, which took place on 20 March 2026 aboard the research vessel Amber Cecilia, the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Infrastructure, Arkadiusz Marchewka, emphasised: ‘This is a truly historic moment, as a Polish company stands a chance to become a global provider of integrated data on the seabed, waters and infrastructure in the seas and oceans for dual-use applications – in both civilian and defence projects’. Also Finance Minister Andrzej Domański believes that such an investment in an innovative Polish enterprise will enable a wider use of seabed monitoring data and increase the safety of infrastructure within the Baltic Sea, along with the safety of the general public, while positively contributing to environmental conservation objectives.
