Scientific Congress
On 18–20 September 2025, representatives of MEWO S.A. participated in the 89th Scientific Congress of the Polish Geological Society, held in Gdańsk.
The event was devoted to geological exploration of the Southern Baltic and its coastal areas, as well as their significance for the economy and climate.
During the congress, Arkadiusz Wepner presented a paper entitled ‘Identification of geohazards and their impact on project implementation on the seabed – an overview and identification methods based on data from the Southern Baltic area’, while Elżbieta Maszloch presented a poster on terrestrial sediments in the relief and structure of the Southern Baltic seabed.
The materials had been prepared by Marek Bogucki, Patrycja Kapuścińska, Elżbieta Maszloch, Arkadiusz Wepner, Jędrzej Patejko, Radosław Wróblewski and Janusz Dworniczak, with the support of Kacper Sokół.
Specialists in the fields of geology, geomorphology and hydrogeology had an excellent opportunity to expand their horizons during field trips, addressing key topics for the emerging infrastructure and the development of the Polish Baltic coast, along with its raw material potential.
Attended by more than 100 researchers, the congress served as a valuable platform for the exchange of experiences and discussion on the current state of knowledge and challenges related to the development of the Polish part of the Baltic Sea and its coast. The event was also honoured by the presence of the Minister of Climate and Environment, Paulina Hennig-Kloska.
