Overview of projects and operations – April 2025
Having completed another round of service operations, we are already planning further activities in May as part of two monitoring projects. Additionally, operations involving the playback of sounds in the marine environment are foreseen.
After completing work at sea for the project carried out in collaboration with DeepOcean, the Amber Cecilia vessel has been fully demobilised and is currently in the shipyard.
We are waiting for the schedule of the upcoming geophysical operations in one of our projects. As soon as these are launched, an ROV inspection is planned in the monopile area – quite a challenge!
We are also concluding another hydro-chemical survey campaign. Bird observations are already being conducted from two vessels – Dr Lubecki and Wła-222. In the foreseeable future, we will also undertake C-POD servicing.
As part of our project implemented with the Maritime Office, we are continuing vessel calibration and equipment changeover – we are preparing for the upcoming geophysical measurement campaign. A new vessel, HELOT, will soon join the project. We are looking forward to swift mobilisation and successful calibration.
MEWO has been awarded two new projects – we are ahead of geotechnical and environmental surveys, expected to begin in the middle of the year.
Offshore Corner
We have completed another round of training in marine physics. We are improving our current systems and developing brand new technological solutions for the Company.
Organisation
Elections were held among personnel employed under contracts of employment, resulting in the selection of three members of the MEWO Employee Council.
Next month will see the return of our annual Cycling May initiative – a challenge involving collecting stickers for every day people commute to work by bike. It is a great opportunity to get moving just before summer!
MEWO on the road
08–10 April 2025 – Ocean Business, Southampton
On 8–10 April, we participated in the Ocean Business event in Southampton, in search of new technologies and solutions to support MEWO’s projects.
We were particularly interested in state-of-the-art systems for water quality testing and eDNA sampling, as well as new bathymetric and sonar devices, perfect for shallow sea basins and smaller vessels. Technologies dedicated to deep-sea surveys were also compelling.
We had a chance to join a short cruise, during which a new lift and a sound velocity profiler were showcased.
The direct meetings with our Partners and the establishment of new promising contacts for future projects were invaluable assets of the event.
08–10.04.2025 – WindEurope, Copenhagen
MEWO had the pleasure of participating in this year’s edition of WindEurope – the event attracting leaders of the wind industry from all over Europe.
These were three intense days filled with valuable networking, inspiring panels and visits at the stands of companies that are genuinely driving the energy transition. After discussing innovations, challenges and the future of renewable energy sources, we returned home with our heads full of ideas and even greater motivation to act.
16 April 2025 – Orlen Neptun Supplier Day, Warsaw
MEWO participated in the first Supplier Day organised by Orlen Neptun. We look forward to future editions – particularly in the Tricity, which is a major hub of the Polish offshore sector.
During the conference, numerous important topics related to the supply chain and cooperation on projects were addressed. Orlen Neptun presented an ambitious plan – the proportion of Polish suppliers is expected to reach 45% of the contract value. We are pleased to see that local content is becoming a viable issue for our Clients – crucial for the development of the Polish economy.
